Sponsor Community Project (SCP) Common Pool

A portion of the proceeds from .Asia domains support community projects in partnership with DotAsia Sponsor Members, an initiative called Sponsor Community Projects (SCP). SCP Funds are accrued for each standard .Asia domain registration and renewal (excluding promotional registrations) where the registrant is associated with a DotAsia Sponsor Member cc-locality.

Funds allocated to a specific Sponsor Member cc-locality expire after three years and are then reallocated to a Common Pool. Funds in the Common Pool expire after an additional three years and are subsequently reallocated to DotAsia community projects, particularly to the DotAsia Foundation (IRD 91/12820).

Available SCP funds are reported annually to DotAsia Members as of December 31 and are also available to Members upon request. Read more on the SCP page. (link to new page dot.asia/scp)

DotAsia and the Applicant Support Program (ASP)

Asia is experiencing the largest Internet growth globally—driven by rapid digital transformation, technological advancements, increasing digital infrastructure investments, and a large youth population now coming online. DotAsia is a mentor in the Applicant Support Program (ASP), supporting nonprofit organisations in the APAC region. The ASP is intended to make the New Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLD) Program: Next Round application and evaluation processes and fees more accessible to nonprofits and other entities that would like to operate a registry but would otherwise be unable to apply, because of financial and resource constraints. Read more about DotAsia’s support on the ASP page. (link to new page dot.asia/asp)

EcoInternet Index (EII)

Following the largest drop in global carbon emissions in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, emissions rebounded to the highest levels ever recorded in 2025. With the non-stop growth and utilization of the Internet, it is crucial to work collaboratively towards a sustainable “EcoInternet”. The EcoInternet Index (EII), developed by DotAsia and APNIC Foundation, compares climate and Internet infrastructure data across APAC. It supports inclusive policy, activism, and research on the Internet’s environmental impact. By combining rigorous data analysis with stakeholder collaboration, this initiative aims to “Do More, Waste Less” by advocating for a greener, more energy-efficient Internet infrastructure across the APAC region. Read more on the EcoInternet Index (EII) website.

NetMission (NMA)

NetMission is the world's longest-running youth Internet Governance program and has evolved into a youth-led institution where young people not only learn, but lead. At its core is the NetMission Academy (NMA), which equips youth to engage in the multistakeholder Internet Governance ecosystem. Alumni go on to contribute across the organisation's initiatives: conducting policy research through the Asia Pacific Policy Observatory (APPO), organising and facilitating regional dialogue through the Asia Pacific Youth Internet Governance Forum (APyIGF), the Model ICANN Conference through the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA), and publishing accessible analysis through the NetMission Digest. This pathway from learning to leadership has seen NetMission ambassadors and alumni regularly appointed to global bodies such as the UN IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) and the Youth Coalition on Internet Governance (YCIG) Steering Committee. NetMission also played a prominent role in youth engagement during the WSIS+20 Review process in 2025, which culminated in youth being explicitly recognised as a stakeholder group in the UN General Assembly's final outcome document.
